Our ESS42R is an integrated hybrid closed-loop stepper motor based on RS485 bus and supporting Modbus RTU protocol. This motor integrates a hybrid servo motor and driver into one, and uses the standard Modbus RTU bus communication protocol for control. Its flange size is 42mm. Compared with the traditional combination of stepper motor driver and stepper motor, it is more cost-effective. This integrated hybrid servo motor combines the advantages of bus communication control, simple wiring, no lost steps, low temperature rise, low noise, high speed, high torque, and low cost, making it an extremely cost-effective motion control product.

3.Status indication
PWR: power indicator light. When power is on, the green indicator light is on.
ALM: fault indicator light.
Flashing red light once within 3 seconds: over-current or phase-to-phase short circuit fault;
Flashing red light 2 times continuously within 3 seconds: over-voltage fault;
Flashing red light 7 times continuously within 3 seconds: position error alarm.
DIP switch setting
ESS42R uses a 5-bit DIP switch to set the drive station number and communication baud rate.
SW1~SW3: Drive station number setting. SW4: Drive communication baud rate. After the slave number and communication baud rate are modified, it needs to be powered on again to take effect.

Note: The slave station number setting, when it is in the default file, can define the slave station number by setting the custom drive slave station number register (0x0020), the range is 1~31.

Note: When the communication baud rate is set to 9600bps, the serial data format is fixed to 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit. When set to other three baud rates, the serial port data format is determined by the serial port data format register (0x0021).
SW5: RS485 terminal resistor. The bus end driver needs to set this dip switch to ON, and the other drivers need to set it to OFF.
